Pots, Pans & Cabbage

Sale Price: $320.00 Original Price: $425.00

This late 19th-century oil painting is a classic still life, showcasing the refined artistry and quiet elegance characteristic of the era. The composition features a dark, moody background that draws focus to a small arrangement of everyday objects—a brass bowl, a glass jar, and a leafy green cabbage—rendered with rich, textured brushwork and careful attention to light and shadow. The painting’s somber palette and subtle reflections evoke the influence of Dutch and French still life traditions, emphasizing simplicity and introspection. It is housed in an ornate antique gilt frame, lavishly carved with scrolling acanthus motifs and aged to a warm patina, which beautifully complements the timeless depth and understated sophistication of the artwork within.
